Calgary Alderman Blogging

Following along with some Alberta municipal mentions on Twitter I found the blog site of Calgary Alderman Diane Colley-Urquhart. Calgary is split up into wards and Diane represents the Glenmore area.

It looks like Diane has only recently started blogging, with 2 posts in July and 2 in August.

So, in my continuing search for local government politicians on the web I'll be adding her blog to the Worthwhile Blogs section on the right side of the page.

Check out Diane's blog to see what's happening in municipal politics from down south, in Calgary Glenmore.

Enjoy!

Somewhat unrelated but...
This falls into the Alberta Bill 203, I've blogged about. A municipal councilor runs to be an MLA.
Without bill 203 Diane is able to use any surplus funds from her time as a Calgary Aldermen to run for another level of Government. It's an unfair advantage she will enjoy.
Not only that but she directly links her blog to her new Alberta campaign website. And has not removed herself from her position as Aldermen.

It's not actually her aldermanic blog. She is the PC candidate in the provincial byelection in Calgary-Glenmore. While she does talk a bit about her aldermanic work, this blog is really about her campaign (e.g. the methadone clinic is in Calgary Glenmore, but not in her City Ward)

Her aldermanic website is http://aldermandiane.ca but she does not update that often.
